Coaching Skills for Managers: Unlocking Potential

About the Course

Creating a culture where managers adopt a coaching approach can transform the way people work and lead. When leaders coach rather than simply direct, they open up space for reflection, creativity, and ownership. Coaching conversations encourage individuals to think more deeply, build confidence, and take greater responsibility — leading to stronger engagement, faster development, and better results.

Over time, organisations that embed coaching as a way of working tend to see stronger relationships, more adaptable teams, and a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Workshop Aim

This one-day workshop introduces managers to the mindset and core skills of coaching, helping them shift from problem-solving to empowering their team members to take ownership, grow in confidence, and unlock their potential.

Who should attend?

This workshop is ideal for managers, team leaders, and supervisors who want to:

  • Support team members in developing their own solutions

  • Move away from ‘telling’ and towards enabling thinking

  • Build trust, accountability and motivation within their teams

  • Develop their listening, questioning and feedback skills

It’s especially useful for those who want to grow their leadership style and create a more supportive, people-centred culture.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:

Understand what coaching is (and isn’t) and how it supports team performance,

Recognise when to use a coaching approach in everyday management conversations,

Practise active listening, powerful questioning and reflective feedback’,

Explore how to create the right conditions for coaching conversations to be effective,

Use a simple framework (such as GROW) to structure coaching discussions,
